 Mike Perez, CFO
Mike joined The Brenner Group in 2008 and has over 30 years of financial and senior executive experience in companies ranging from early-stage startups to large public corporations. He has a diverse background in industries such as semiconductors, hardware, disk drives, and personal software. In addition to solid finance and accounting skills, Mike has broad experience managing cross-functional areas including HR, IT, legal, treasury, risk management and facilities. He has participated in initial and secondary public offerings and numerous venture financing rounds. In addition, Mike has significant experience in the areas of financial planning and analysis, SEC reporting, internal controls and processes, and investment relations.
Before joining The Brenner Group, Mike spent several years as a CFO consultant in a variety of industries. Prior to consulting, he served as Vice President and CFO of Lexar Media, a manufacturer of digital media, where he assisted management in returning the company to profitability, participated in a successful secondary offering and closed a $25 million credit line with a major bank. Prior to that, Mike held executive positions at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, O.R. Technology, SyQuest Technology and Symantec. He was also a division controller at Intel Corporation and an audit manager at Arthur Young & Company.
Mike has a B.S. degree in Accounting from San Jose State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Santa Clara. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
